Education and Counter-terrorism: Can you teach Peace?

The Education Policy Centre at King's Think Tank would like to invite you to a panel discussion on Education and Counter-terrorism. The expert panel will cover topics such as the Prevent Strategy, explore the government’s policies for countering radicalisation, and discuss how they have played a role in institutes of education.
The panel will be convened by Professor Tahir Abbas, Senior Research Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, currently researching Islam, radicalisation, identity politics and social conflict in Western European contexts.
Featuring guest speakers:
Professor Gwen Griffith-Dickson, Founder and Director of the Lokahi Foundation and Visiting Professor at King's College London. Her research interests include religious violence and extremism.
Dr Rizwaan Sabir, Lecturer in Criminology at Liverpool John Moores University. Dr Sabir specialises in the study of counter-terrorism, counterinsurgency and political Islam.
Rob Faure-Walker, former teacher in East London and Researcher at the Institute of Education focusing on counter-terrorism in schools and the Prevent Strategy.
