What is the Education and Child Development Fair?

Collin College’s Education and Child Development Fair is designed for those who want to impact the world one student at a time-- as a prospective teacher or child development interventionist. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, community members, university personnel, prospective employers, student organization members, career service personnel, advising staff and other members of the Collin College team.


When/Where is it?

The program will being promptly at 9 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2nd at the Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available.


Who should attend an Education and Child Development Fair and Why?

The fair is designed to inform currently enrolled high school students, college students, post-graduate students and prospective education major students about the logistics of the education program, teacher certification options, short and long-term career planning, college transfer opportunities, academic planning and the merits of joining a national education student organization.

The fair offers attendees the opportunity to experience a step-by-step approach with a variety of break out sessions including information from academic advising, career coaching, Collin College’s university partners, Collin's faculty, and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education members.

Is there a fee?

No. It is free and open to the public.


What is FINE?

The college’s Education and Child Development Fair is an offshoot of the college’s new Find Investigate Navigate and Educate (FINE) initiative. Look for more FINE events in the future.
