What does the future of education look like? How will female-led innovation impact ed-tech? What will future schools look like?

EdTechWomen Vancouver is bringing together industry experts in education to discuss the influence emerging technologies, innovation, and the ever-changing workplace will have on the future of education. Join our passionate group of accomplished women at the Microsoft Store in Pacific Centre on January 23rd at 6:30 PM. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. We looking forward to meeting you!


PANELISTS

Miranda Lievers is co-founder & COO of Thinkific, a tech company enabling tens of thousands of entrepreneurs and companies to create, market, and sell their own courses online. She jumped ship from her fast-track corporate job and into full-time entrepreneurship a decade ago, earning her MBA along the way. These days she’s devoted to growing Thinkific while working to help business owners around the globe build their own successful companies online.


Shelley Chen is the co-founder of Edvisor.io, a software company powering the international education travel industry. Part of the Techstars Edtech 2014 cohort in NYC, Edvisor.io was also awarded 1st place at the BCIC New Ventures competition in 2015. Shelley started her career in Fashion and founded her own web design company shortly after. Passionate about applying design thinking as a basis to all problem solving, she transitioned into UX and now leads the product design process at Edvisor.io.


MODERATOR

Annee Ngo is a co-founder and the President of ProtoHack. She started her first company, Good Health Nutrition, in 2013 and found success in growing the small retail brand into a franchise. While exploring technology to scale her business, she attender her first ProtoHack in Seattle. In love with the mission of empowering innovation, she pioneered their International City Director program, launched their partnered experiences, and was asked to become an official co-founder. She acquired the company earlier this year and is now scaling ProtoHack with technology at the NYU StartED Incubator.

ABOUT EdTechWomen

We’re business experts, technologists, designers, and educators working in Vancouver to support the development of women's leadership capacity and opportunity in education technology (ed-tech).

What do we do?

We are a networked community for women's leadership in ed-tech. The Vancouver chapter is one of many chapters across North America. EdTechWomen has over 7,000 women who are working to increase the leadership capacity of women in ed-tech through inclusivity, visibility, and impact.

We’ll be meeting monthly at the Microsoft store in Pacific Centre. Our goal is to provide resources, networking opportunities and foster a community for women in ed-tech.
