Event description

Description

We have a very special eLearning Engaging the Digital Student Summer Institute (EDSI) this year! EDSI 2020 will feature  Dr. Margery Ginsberg, an internationally known scholar and educational development expert who specializes in adult learning and institutional change.  We can attest from first-hand experience that working with Margery leads to deep change in one's thinking and teaching.

Margery will be with us for May 18 & 19.  For May 20 & 21, the eLearning team will offer a series of sessions focused on using various technology tools in a mindful way to ensure inclusive and equitable practices.  We'll use "Universal Design for Learning" as an organizing framework for our technology sessions.  The detailed agenda will be available after March 10.

EDSI 2020 is a collaboration between eLearning and the NSF-funded "PASSION" (
PolyTechnic for All) project.  To that end, we're gearing our material toward STEM faculty, and STEM faculty will receive priority in registration.  We have a limit of 40 total participants.

Although STEM faculty will receive priority, any faculty member, full- or part-time, is welcome to apply.  Stipends of $500 will be available for completing the Institute.

Participants with all levels of Blackboard skills are welcome; attendees should be comfortable with basic aspects of online computer use including web browsing and sending/receiving emails with attachments. If you would like to get a brush-up on Blackboard, please contact Studio 6.

Please plan to participate in the entire Summer Institute, as we anticipate a waiting list. If you want to register but the general tickets are "sold out," please select "waiting list" tickets.  We will inform you as soon as possible if a spot opens up.

For questions, please contact eLearning at eLearning@cpp.edu or 909-979-6312, or the Faculty Center at 909-869-2890.
