“The event was fun for everyone. We trotted through the Mission looking for clues, finding ‘Secret Agents’ and challenging other teams to crazy matches when we stumbled upon them. Everyone from age five (that was us) to 65 came back to the Civic Center Plaza laughing, having had a wonderful afternoon. Live music from District 8 and yummy food (and of course prizes!) greeted us as we all picnicked on the grass outside of City Hall. I encourage you to tell your friends, families, hipster connections, etc. to come join us! You didn't have to have a kid to have a blast. It was a great day for a great cause." Laura S.
When & Where
edMatch is a local, grassroots organization run by parents of public school students building community partnerships to generate additional revenue for San Francisco’s public schools and challenging corporations and private philanthropists to “match” funds raised by parent organizations. edMatch's ultimate goal is to distribute matching funds to all the City’s 114 public schools on an equal, per-student basis, while also sharing best practices and strategies for success. Each school then decides locally how to use those funds to achieve the greatest positive impact on student achievement.
