Event description

Edible Forest Gardening Design Course

Join us for a rare opportunity to be a part of the conceptual design, build, and official launch of the Woodinville Food Forest Project at 21 Acres in Woodinville, WA.

Forest gardening is based on the principles of woodland ecosystems with the incorporation of food and other useful plants. This includes fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines, and perennial vegetables. The ultimate goal is a low-maintenance high-yield food production system. Come to be a part of the first community food forest project in Woodinville, WA. Along the way, you will learn design principles you can incorporate in your own garden and/or community space.

The course format will consist of class lectures, hands-on practical application, field trips, as well as additional workshops and work parties. In this course, we will cover forest ecology; design and planning; implementation and maintenance; pruning, grafting, propagation, and much more!!

This course meets one Sunday per month for 9 months beginning February 24th, 2019.
