EcoWorks Annual *Not A* Breakfast Event: The Path Forward
Event Information
About this Event
EcoWorks' annual event continues in the tradition of centering community and justice in Detroit's sustainability movement, this year with a new, virtual twist. Join us as we explore finding a path forward to long-term resilience with environmental justice activists, sustainable community champions, key local figures and much , much more.
We are excited to celebrate our 2020 Sustainability Community Champions as we recognize leaders who advance the practice and inclusivity of sustainability in Southeast Michigan, from neighborhoods to municipalities, addressing issues ranging from energy and water conservation to green building and land use.
This year’s program will also include a special recorded performance from our very own Detroit Youth Concert Choir and Performing Arts Company (DYC) along with a special virtual \dialogue facilitated by three trailblazers in the sustainability and equity sector. Get ready to be inspired and motivated to take action!
Different from years past, tickets for this year’s program are donation based. Instead of asking attendees to pay the traditional ticket price of $75, this year we have decided to adopt a “pay what you like” method. Our work is significant and needed in areas locally and nationally; in order to continue on the path forward, your support is needed. No amount is too little or too great.
In an effort to connect our work back to the community, proceeds from this year's event will be donated to a local non profit organization entitled, "Hey Y'all", a grassroots group that focuses on the five pillars of community, which are: Feeling Connected, Responsibility and Life Skills, Emotional and Physical Well-being, Academic and Success and Career Planning, Social Justice and Engaged Citizenship.
