Description

Ethnobotany is the study of how people and plants have interacted for thousands of years. We will spend some time in the classroom discussing native plants of Sarasota County that have been used historically for food, medicine, and other aspects of daily life. Then we'll take a leisurely walk in Lemon Bay Park to discover and identify many of these plants. Register early through ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com to reserve your spot and receive notice of any changes.

If registration is full, try to register by going to Sarasota County Parks and Recreation events: https://web1.vermontsystems.com/wbwsc/flsarasotawt.wsc/search.html (scroll to find "Nature Walks").

For more information, call 941-861-9822 or email kclements@scgov.net or sarasota@ifas.ufl.edu

Most appropriate for ages 12 and up.

Instructor: Dr. Katherine Clements, ecology and natural resources educator, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County
