Event Details

Come for a fun-filled day at the MA Center where the children & adults will learn about the San Francisco Bay-Delta Watershed and its impact on our day to day life. 

Special Guest Speakers:

Ephraim D. Leon-Guerrero, Environmental Planner, U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Pacific Southwest Region

Susan Levenson, Coordinator, Friends of San Leandro Creek

Our experts will provide a macro and micro look at how watersheds shape life on the planet. Includes a walk up the Crow Creek Watershed and hands-on filtering and testing the water. Bring rain gear and boots or 2nd pair of shoes for a muddy path.

This program is for families with children aged 6 through 12. 

Activity Timing: 1:30 PM -4:00 PM

1:30 PM - 1:45 PM Welcome & Check-In

1:45 PM - 2:30 PM Presentation followed by Q&A

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM Watershed focus nature hike and discussions

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM Recap & Closing

4:00 PM Snack

Please have your children wear proper shoes, warm jackets, etc. If it looks like rain, please bring a raincoat, boots, etc.  This is an indoor & outdoor rain or shine event. Also, carry water bottles for the walk.
