Eco Ambassador Summer Program: Getting started with ArcGIS Online
Event Information
About this event
As part of the Eco Ambassador Summer 2021 program on "Life Below Water: Storytelling with ArcGIS", this session will guide participants to learn and practice the basics of using ArcGIS Online to create compelling maps that visualize your SDG 14 data!
We'll have a team of expert data analysts provide step-by-step guidance for getting started with the platform, preparing your data to be imported, and customizing how the data is presented on your map to help tell your SDG 14 story!
ArcGIS Online training will be provided by:
- Niki Wong, Product Engineer, Learn ArcGIS
- Anela Layugan, GIS Analyst, SDGs Today
- Tara Stafford Ocansey, Education Technology Specialist, Center for Sustainable Development
Additional experts will be available for the Q&A session, including
- Adam Pfister, Senior Solutions Engineer, Esri Non-Profit
- Maryam Rabiee, Manager, SDGs Today
In preparation for the workshop, we suggest participants review the first two introductory videos "What is GIS?" and "How are Maps Made" on our Eco Ambassador Summer 2021 Learn Path
If you're an educator interested in getting your students involved with the summer program, we encourage you to invite them to attend this event! Interested participants can sign-up for the program and submit their SDG 14 topic by completing our Topic Submission Form.
If you're still figuring out your topic and what data sources you might use, and were unable to attend our June 5th event on Discovering Existing SDG 14 Resources, we highly suggest you check out our event recording here.
We look forward to learning with you!
