Description: This presentation will discuss eating disorders and their impact on our population. Contributing factors for eating disorders, new trends, and specific points on eating disorders on women in midlife, children, and men will be reviewed. Impulse control, risk factors for co-morbidity, and mortality rates will be discussed for those with eating disorders and substance use. The difference in the recovery process between eating disorders and substance use will be explored. A question & answer period will follow.
