Key leaders in government, business and our community will share how they are working together to help bring progressive change to our agriculture industry. This inspiring panel will also provide insight on groundbreaking collaborations that are supporting new agricultural food hubs, innovation centers, processing facilities, etc. throughout the state.
To kick off the evening, Keynote Speaker, Senator Donovan Dela Cruz will give an insider’s look at the vision behind the Whitmore Project, an active and comprehensive plan to revitalize Central Oahu’s agricultural landscape and economic footprint. Afterwards, the conversation will continue with featured panelists Myra M. Kaichi, Senior Executive Assistant of Hawaii Department of Agriculture's Agribusiness Development Corporation and Stephanie Whalen, Executive Director of Hawaii Agriculture Research Center, moderated by Augie T.
Featured chefs include Keith Pajinag of THE MODERN HONOLULU, Raymond Locquiao of Herringbone Waikiki, Aaron Siguenza of Tamura's Tavern, and Guy Smith of Chao Phya Thai Restaurant. The Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit organization created to promote agriculture and farming. Created in 2007, the mission of HAF is to support and sustain Hawai‘i’s agricultural industry by addressing critical needs and services of farmers and the agricultural industry in Hawai‘i, and by better connecting the farmers with the community and vice-versa. This involves educational and outreach programs in the community, as well as direct marketing, technical, educational and in-the-field support for farmers.
