Event description

Description

More than a fundraiser! Come enjoy a casual evening of interactive cooking, art creation with nationally known Dayton artist, Mike Elsass, and Yoga! Proceeds will benefit the Center's Peer Mediation Program at the Women's Dayton Correctional Institution.

Dayton has all the ingredients of a vibrant and inclusive community. With its unique history of creative innovation dating back to its inception, Dayton is a delicious artistic mix of diverse ingredients including its people, history, communities, landscapes, organizations, and businesses. It’s all combined in a beautiful mosaic nestled along the Great Miami River.

Be a part of the continuing evolution and growth of Dayton where its community members are artfully creating great spaces to live, work, and play. Help celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of Dayton’s best kept secret ingredients, the Dayton Mediation Center. The Dayton Mediation Center has combined these ingredients to become the region’s premier provider of conflict intervention services. Come celebrate and learn about the organization and its progressive work providing a range of conflict intervention services including conflict management training for youth, helping families and neighborhoods groups, and supporting individuals, groups, and organizations engage in productive conversations.

This will be a community event designed to raise awareness of the Center’s services while creating a beautiful and fun evening of food, art, and yoga to raise funds to support the Center’s Women’s Prison Peer Mediation Program, the first of its kind in the region to train incarcerated women in the skills of conflict intervention. The goal of this unique program is to help reduce prison conflicts while helping them when they are released and return to their families and communities.
