Event description

Description

Current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders enrolled in Easton Middle School are encouraged to attend the second annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) conference at Oliver Ames High School. The conference was a huge success last year, and is back again with new presenters in new STEM fields! By attending the conference, students will get the chance to explore various STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, encouraging them to build a love for STEM and consider a future career in a STEM field. The 4.5-hour long conference will give students the chance to do activities in various STEM fields and hear from professionals in these fields. Through the program, children will have the opportunity to learn about potential careers and areas of study in STEM field from experts in these fields. The program will address 6 distinct areas of STEM; Engineering, Medicine, Chemistry, Entrepreneurship and Invention, Space, and Computer Science; through a unique rotation-style classroom setting, almost like a school day. The program will also include a class highlighting the opportunities for STEM learning and extracurriculars at Oliver Ames. We encourage ALL middle schoolers, not just those actively considering a future in STEM, to attend.
