Description

On the Christian calendar, Easter occupies a central role, celebrated in Italy with processions, religious festivals, and unforgettable and regionally distinct meals. Viola Buitoni, a native Umbrian and chef instructor in the SF Bay Area, still takes great delight in the foods of her family Easter traditions, and she’s coming to Caruccio’s to share some of her childhood holiday favorites with you.

This is a fun and interactive cooking class. However, if you would rather just watch, learn, and sip Umbrian wine, that is absolutely fine as well! Just plan on all sitting down all together in a dinner-party style Umbrian Easter Feast at the end of the evening!

Viola Buitoni is a direct descendant of the famed pasta and chocolate family and hails from Perugia, in the heart of Umbria. She came to the US for college, but soon after attending NYU as an economics major, she was drawn back into her genetic passion for food. She ran an Italian catering business and had a shop showcasing the best of Italian food on Madison Avenue in NYC. After moving to San Francisco in 2004 to start a family, Viola can now be found giving lectures on Italian food traditions and trends, and schooling passionate home cooks and chefs on how to best bring Italy to their kitchens.
