About the Musician:

Naomi Johnson is a vocalist who spans the generation gap. She chooses music and lyrics that are both current and classic that celebrate our musical treasures. As a performer, she is a warm and vibrant as her mellow alto tones.

Naomi is a native of Boston, Massachusetts, but considers herself a New Yorker and in particular, a Brooklynite. She has sung professionally for over 40 years throughout the tri-state area as well as Boston, Cleveland, and Chicago. Her Brooklyn appearances include Two Steps Down Restaurant, Up Over Jazz Cafe, 200 Fifth Avenue, The Cutting Room, and The Baby Grand and Royston's Rhythm's to name a few. She also performed for Brooklyn Cable Access Television's New Embers and Singer's Corner hosted by Sandi Blair.

She has studied privately with Nat Jones, Danny Holgate, and Hugh Thompson. Over the years, Naomi has worked with music directors that include Arthur Jenkins, Hubert Laws, Aziza Miller and Linda Hudson.

About the Chef:

Sophia is a student of nutrition, personal chef, and visual artist. She decided to embrace her life-long love of food as a way to promote her own health and growth. Inspired by her Jamaican Grandmother and the tastes and ingredients that she experienced during her own transition to better eating, she set out on a mission to spark revolution through food and lifestyle. She believes in using local farmers market fresh seasonal ingredients. Developing creative, affordable, tasty and visually appealing meals using real food. Her East New York, Brooklyn community-based program, Project Homemade, is an example of her commitment to making change through food in her community.

"I love experimenting in the kitchen and trying new foods to make them my own in a beautifully tasty way"
