East Coast Doctoral Conference

We would like to cordially invite you to this year's NYU/Columbia Doctoral Conference to be held at Warren Hall on Columbia University's campus on Monday, May 1st. This year's theme is "Solving Grand Challenges.” Attendance is free, and you do not need to have submitted anything to attend! In case you need help finding accommodation, please send us a separate email and we’ll do our best to support you.
In addition to the Micro and Macro presentations, there will also be a best Micro and a best Macro paper award presented before the lunchtime panel on “Preparing for the Job Market.” This lunchtime panel will involve students from this year's job market sharing experiences and advice on how to prepare and handle the job market. There will be separate panels for micro and macro; this year's panelists will include recent graduates from Columbia, NYU, and Yale, amongst others.
If you are interested in submitting an application to the Micro or Macro track, there are two submission types:
- Full Talk (15 mins, 5 mins Q&A): To apply for this format, please submit a 500-word abstract, 1 graph/table, 3 key words, and 1 faculty member you would like to attend. Your talk will be maximum 15 slides, with one slide specifically addressing the theme of the conference.
- Data Blitz (5 mins, Q&A at session end): To apply for this format, please submit a 250-word abstract, 1 graph/table, and 3 key words. Your talk will be maximum 5 slides.
You can submit your application to http://tiny.cc/ecdc2017 by March 6th, 11:59pm. You will receive decisions on your submissions shortly thereafter allow for sufficient travel and accommodation planning.
