On Friday, Feb. 24th the African American Military History Museum will welcome poets to the museum to share their creative talents by highlighting and dedicating a performance to a historically renowned African American military soldier. The event will feature local artwork inspired by African American military experiences. “Collections Inspired by a Soldier’s Sacrifice: Poetry Slam,” is open to the public to attend, and will begin at 7 p.m. Entries into the contest and art submissions are currently open, everyone is welcome to attend to watch the performances.
