Event description

Description

Join us on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. for an afternoon of fun participatory theater during which parent and children alike will explore ways to respond to teasing and bullying. Children ages 5-12 will see Imagination Theater’s acclaimed production of Ease the Tease! Ease the Tease was written in conjunction with Illinois Social Worker of the Year and author of Easing the Teasing Judy Freedman. During the show, kids will get a chance to practice strategies to combat teasing by role-playing with professional actors. Kids will leave the program with an understanding of friendly vs. hurtful teasing and will be given the tools to stand up for themselves and others when they see hurtful teasing happening.

While the kids are learning how to Ease the Tease, parents will receive their own workshop with Imagination Theater’s facilitators and teaching artists. Many parents worry about what to do if their child is the victim of teasing or bullying, or how to handle situations if their child is the teaser. Imagination Theater will create a safe, fun environment for parents to come together, listen, and learn from one another to address some of these challenging issues.

Light Snacks will be provided. For questions about this event, contact Steve Leaver, Executive Director at 773-492-1966 x4 or steve@imaginationtheater.org. This is a FREE event, but there is limited space so we ask that you register for tickets below.
