Description

Come work with NYC Parks Stewardship and One Tree Planted to care for local street trees!

Volunteers will learn how to aerate, cultivate, mulch, and identify street trees. You will also learn about the important roles that street trees play in New York City.

Hands-on work will include cleaning up the tree beds, weeding, cultivating the soil, and spreading fresh mulch.

Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Meeting Location: Dr. Ronald E. McNair Playground (east 122st, between 3rd avenue and Lexington Avenue)

What to bring

  • Long pants
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Sun prtoection
  • Light snacks

Note: Children under 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. The guardian will need to sign a waiver.
