Event description

Description

Join Chef Rosaria for a 2019 Farm Fresh Feast Dinner, where incredible local chefs will come together to create artfully prepared dishes using produce sourced from local farms.

This will be a one night multi-course event where a host of amazing local chefs create delectable dishes with the produce that is in season. You will also enjoy sangria and other wine with your meal.

How This Event Makes a Difference

The majority of the proceeds from this event will benefit a charity that makes an incredible difference in our community, Waste Not Want Not. Waste Not Want Not rescues unmarketable, but still wholesome, food from supermarkets, restaurants, and other businesses daily and distributes that food to people in need.

The Experience

Dinner will be held at a family style harvest table surrounded by the beautiful bounty from local gardens. You will enjoy the freshest possible fare and sip on sangria, with a lovely view of the Atlantic Beach Urban Farms. There will also be a tour of the ABUF.

Guests can arrive to the farm between 6-6:30pm to a cold beverage and a beautiful view. Feel free to dress casually and wear comfortable shoes. Take in the scene and enjoy!

At 6:30 enjoy the edible landscape and a tour of the farm where you will have an opportunity to see the inner workings of an urban tower farm on display and to purchase some of their imported cheeses, oils and farm fresh greens.

We will gather back at the harvest table for cocktails, music, good company, and appetizers.

During this time you will get a chance to meet the chefs, and they will talk a bit about the meal they have prepared for you.

The rest of the courses will follow from here. Take your time and enjoy your meal and wine. After all, it’s a one night only multi-course dinner prepared with love and passion.

Chefs

Chef Rosaria
Chef Rosaria Cammarata hails originally from Sicily where she grew up cooking alongside her grandmother with ingredients picked fresh and seafood pulled out of the ocean the same day. This instilled in her a focus on incredible fresh ingredients she employs to this day. When Chef Rosaria opened her first restaurant, longtime Florida Times Union Food Critic Dan McDonald had this to say, "If it sounds like I am wowed by this place, it is because I am. I just returned from Manhattan where I ate some great food, but these dishes would turn the head of the most jaded New Yorker."

Chef Dennis Chan
The chef/owner of Blue Bamboo Restaurant, Chef Dennis Chan is famous for his Hip Asian Comfort Food style of cuisine. Chef Dennis recently won Pillbury’s nationwide Neighborhood to Nation cooking contest showcasing this chef from a legendary Jacksonville cooking family on the national stage.

Chef Josh Agan
Chef Joshua Agan entered the Jacksonville culinary scene in 2010, a transplant from the San Francisco Bay Area. His creativity blossomed at bb’s restaurant in San Marco, where he established our city’s first rooftop chefs garden. Agan branched out to open Flying Iguana Taqueria in Atlantic Beach and most recently Coop 303 in Neptune Beach. Chef Agan’s current culinary offerings can be experienced through his new Private Dining and Catering Service.

Chef Dwight Delude
Chef Delude is truly a legend in beaches dining. Over 23 years his namesake Dwight’s Bistro has become known for setting the mood for a romantic dinner and making the perfect ravioli. For the Farm Fresh Feast Chef Dwight will be baking up bread with a recipe he’s been honing for decades.

Chef Matt Kemper
Beaches diners have been dining on Chef Matt Kemper’s thoughtful creations for years whether it be in the early days of KC Crave to his current day location as Executive Chef at Mezza in Neptune Beach. Chef Kemper has a knack for creating dishes that are both impressive and approachable.

Chef Shane Cheshire
Chef Shane Cheshire has deep roots in the Jax Beach culinary scene. Chef Shane was at the storied First Street Grille, which longtime Jaxsons will remember as the place to eat at the beach, on the ocean, in the late 90s to early 2000s. More recently Chef Shane has taken the helm at Southern Kitchen and Bar in Jax Beach. He has the added perk of having the best view at the beach when he goes to work each day.

Chef Matt Gilligan
Chef Matt Gilligan was born and raised in restaurants in and around Boston where he got his start at age 12 bussing tables and doing prep work. After culinary school he found his way to a BBQ restaurant where he cooked for the Patriots every home game. When Matt moved to Jax in 2005 he fell in love with the farm to table concept. Chef Matt opened his 904 Restaurant a few years back to rave reviews showcasing a hyper-local style of cuisine that guests and local farmers jointly admired.

Chef Gus Budayana
A transplant from Bali Indonesia to the United States 14 years ago, Gus brings an international flair and an eye for detail to everything he does. As owner of Blazin Azn food truck Gus has become known for his passion for creating sushi diners will drool over.

Chef Maurice Colbert
When we set out to build our team for this event it was important to us to include an up and coming young chef who we feel is primed to make a splash on the Jacksonville restaurant scene. Chef Maurice Colbert has been making his way up through a number of our city’s finest restaurants from Orsay to Gilbert’s to most recently Doro. He’s just launched his exclusive catering company Another Branch.
