Members and friends event: Early Years Strategy Implementation and Prevention and Early Intervention

About this Event

We want to bring our members together to hear more about developments in the early years sector and the area of prevention and early intervention. We are providing you a unique opportunity to hear directly from officials from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs as well as the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform on two key reforms that are currently underway that will have a significant impact for children and young people in Ireland.

2.05 - 2.55pm Fiachra Kennedy, Assistant Principal Officer in the Prevention and Early Intervention Unit in the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will discuss the work of the Unit and in particular their contribution to the public spending code. The code is a guide to Departments on how money should be spent so this is your chance to influence and shape the Code and ask any questions you might have.

2.25pm – 2.55pm Q & A

2.55pm – 3.25pm Anne-Marie Brooks Principal Officer for Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs will provide an overview of the three-year Implementation Plan for First 5: the whole-of-Government strategy for babies, young children and their families.
