Description

Early Winter Session (only 4 weeks)
November 29th through December 20th
Tuesdays 11:30 - 12:45

In this class, you will learn how to:

· Introduce healthy movement through play

· Understand and meet the needs of your child

· Be more relaxed and confident in your parenting

· Nourish yourself during this formative time

· Work with Waldorf and RIE principles

Join with parents and babies for gentle and playful songs, quiet observation and lively conversation. Babies are free to explore in a safe and nurturing environment. Topics of discussion include healthy movement and development, rhythm and routine, sleep, and nourishing ourselves as parents. Lullabies and seasonal songs will be shared. A feeling of shared community will support you in caring for your baby at home. Articles and reading materials are handed out weekly. Babies from the age of 3 months until walking are welcome to class with one parent or caregiver, though guests can be included by prior request.

Space is limited. Your spot is reserved once payment has been made. Waldorf Santa Barbara reserves the right to cancel a class due to under enrollment. Class fees are non-refundable unless a class is cancelled.

About Parent-Baby Teacher Barbara Rosen

Barbara was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, where she was blessed with a childhood filled withnature and beauty. She thrived with beach outings, mountain hikes, horseback riding and sailing. The arts were a large part of her education: music, dance, and later, the crafts of shoe making, bookbinding, spinning, knitting, weaving and pottery to name a few. She moved to beautiful Sonoma County where she received a BA in Theater, married and raised three children. Although she had met Anthroposophy earlier, with the birth of her children Waldorf education came to the fore front. Soon she was taking classes, became a kindergarten assistant and did her teacher training at the Rudolf Steiner College San Francisco program. Her Waldorf teaching career includes directing a preschool in her own home program, vocal and recorder instruction privately and in the classroom, and grades class teaching. She has found her passion through teaching Parent Toddler classes for over 10 years, and in more recent years has led Parent Baby classes. To support this work, she completed the RIE Foundations course in the summer of 2012 at the center in Los Angeles. She completed her Masters in Education at Touro University with a thesis on the Arts in Waldorf Education. She is a certified Nurturing Arts practitioner, and has completed artistic and therapeutic trainings through the School for Uncovering the Voice.
