Kevin Coval is author of five books including Schtick, L-vis Lives!: Racemusic Poems and More Shit Chief Keef Don't Like. He is the founder of Louder Than A Bomb: The Chicago Youth Poetry Festival, the world's largest youth poetry festival, and the Artistic Director of Young Chicago Authors, LTAB's non-profit home. Coval teaches hip-hop aesthetics at The University of Illinois-Chicago, is a 4x HBO Def Poet and has written for CNN.com, The Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, and National Public Radio in Chicago. He’s working on writing and editing the anthology, The Breakbeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip Hop, and hosts a monthly podcast and live talk show on WBEZ, "What's Fresh: A New Culture Podcast and Talk Show. Jeff McCarter is the Founder & Executive Director of Free Spirit Media, which he created in order to share his experience as a media professional (cameraman, editor, and Emmy Award-winning producer) with youth from under-resourced communities. In mainstream media, Jeff witnessed the lack of diversity in both representation and opportunity. Now, Free Spirit Media cultivates diverse youth voices to transform media and society. Jeff was a founding co-chair of the Chicago Youth Voices Network and serves on Chicago’s Committee for Media Access. He is a thought leader in the fields of youth media education and digital media and learning, and has presented at multiple conferences, including DML (Digital Media and Learning), ACM (Alliance for Community Media), and Media Rise. http://www.freespiritmedia.org
