About this Event
Whether you have tons of advocacy experience, or none at all, the Early Learning Public Policy Forum is THE place for you to sharpen your advocacy skills and help us move a nonpartisan agenda in support of young children and the early childhood education profession!
This forum will be educational and enlightening for all individuals in and outside of the early learning field in South Dakota.
Registering for the event will give you access to all of the sessions. Most sessions will have training credit available.

Early Learner Day at the Capitol | Monday | January 25, 2021
11:00am-11:15am CST - RALLY DAY
15 minute video - Early Learner South Dakota welcomes all to join in a week filled with awareness and education with national and local speakers who will talk to the importance of early learning.
11:30am-12:30pm CST - EARLY LEARNING COMMUNITY PANEL
Sarah Hauge, Janessa Bixel, Mayor Allender, Anne Rogers-Popejoy | What is an Early Learning Community? Learn what some of our SD communities are doing to promote and elevate early learning and how YOUR community can get involved!
3:30pm-5:00pm CST - ACEs
Children’s Home Society | Cassie Nagel, Tifanie Petro | The ACEs and Resiliency Training teaches the importance of understanding the impact of trauma on the brain and how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) will impact the well-being of children for a lifetime.

Linda Duba, Erin Healey, Jessica Castleberry, Jeff Partridge | Hear from South Dakota Legislators on their perspective on Early Learning in SD. Time will be set aside for participants to ask questions. (More speakers TBA)
