Description

Join us for three-days of interactive workshops and networking with other professionals, graduate students and UCF College of Education and Human Performance Faculty on Early Childhood Education development. Professionals and students from all disciplines (education, counseling, social work, psychology, communication disorders, and others) engaged in any aspect of Early Childhood Education are welcome including educators, principals, administrators, advocates, practitioners, and all agency staff.

Date: June 11-13, 2018

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4: 30 p.m. each day*

Session Tracks

Track 1 - Grant Writing and Doctoral Work in Early Childhood

This session will focus on grant writing in early childhood development and education and provide an introduction to the Education Ph.D. Early Childhood Track.

Track 2 - A 3-Step Solution to Challenging Behaviors Using Conscious Discipline®

In this session, participants will learn how to incorporate brain-based strategies into their teaching practices to help children stay connected and engaged in the learning process. Using a 3-step process, participants will learn how to respond instead of react to challenging behaviors. Through classroom examples and practice, participants will learn how to analyze the behaviors of the most difficult children and create strategies to help them be successful.

Track 3 - Providing Quality Environments for Young Children

This track is comprised of information to enhance the learning experience for young children, focusing on infants through preschool ages. The sessions will concentrate on national accreditation standards, creating a safe environment, and promoting language. The discussions will be interactive and allow participants to complete activities at the UCF Educational Research Center for Child Development (ERCCD).

Cost: $150/person

Registration includes parking and certificate of completion for 21 In-Service hours - cannot be applied towards university credit.
