Discussion on enhancing Louisiana's Child and Adult Care Food Program using the CDC's Spectrum of Opportunities framework.

About this Event

Well-Ahead Louisiana with the Louisiana Department of Health invites you to the 2nd Early Childhood Roundtable Discussion to be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The meeting is being organized under the Nemours Healthy Kids Healthy Future Technical Assistance Program (HKHF TAP). Nemours’ overarching goal is to strengthen existing, state- or community level efforts to promote healthy eating, physical activity, breastfeeding, and reduced screen time among children in ECE settings.

The main goal of the 2nd roundtable discussion is to discuss the strengths and opportunities for improvements that exist for the CACFP program. An overview of the CACFP Louisiana Geographic Information System Mapping (GIS map) will be shared to lead our discussion. The map shows the disparities that exist between individuals eligible for federal assistance and actual services provided.

For the meeting, we recommend the individuals who attended the first roundtable discussion attend. In addition, we are encouraging early childhood lead(s) for nutrition and the CACFP program attend this discussion.

If you have additional questions, please email Antinea.Johnson@la.gov.
