Event description

Description

Bank Street College of Education is committed to building a better society by acknowledging the work that needs to be done around equity, and participating in Black Lives Matter at Schools Week of Action, with a specific focus on Black children birth to 8 years old and their families. To that end, the Center on Culture, Race & Equity in collaboration with the Bank Street School for Children, Graduate School and Education Center will host a symposium on Early Childhood Education for Black children and families on February 6, 2019.

We are committed to honoring the lives of Black children at this event, which will involve a two-part panel discussion titled From Theory to Practice: Black Children Learning and Thriving. The discussions will focus on exploring theories, practices, and policies that promote equity and support Black children to thrive.

Please join us as we shout to the world that at Bank Street, we believe Black Lives Matter in Schools, and in early childhood education.

For the symposium schedule and information about speakers, please visit our event website here!
