Description

One of the functions of an Eagle coach is to help a Scout accomplish the tasks necessary for advancement in an efficient manner.

Who Should Take this Training?

• Scoutmasters

• Assistant Scoutmasters

• Committee Chairmen

• Advancement Chairmen

• Eagle Project Coaches

The Eagle Coach is involved in all phases:

• Project selection

• Proposal development

• Detailed planning development

• Project execution

• Preparation for final Eagle Board of Review

The Eagle Coach serves to help the Scout by:

• Demystifying the Life-to-Eagle process

• Providing information, motivation, and guidance

• Showing how the pieces of the puzzle fit together

• Identifying barriers and, when appropriate, guiding the Scout around them

• Communicating the importance of developing a detailed plan and exercising leadership

• Guiding him to a BSA-compliant project of value to the community

To be an Eagle Coach, you must:

• Be registered with the BSA as an adult Scouter

• Be interested in working with Life Scouts to help guide them through the process of the Eagle Project

• Be available to devote the necessary time to regularly meet and communicate with the Scout

• Be certified by the BSA as possessing valid, up-to-date Youth Protection training, and

• Be familiar with the scope, breadth, and details of the: Eagle Packet, Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook, the Guide to Advancement and the Guide to Safe Scouting.
