E-Learning Symposium 2011 Austin - June 8, 2011 @ 8AM - 4:30PM
Omni Southpark Hotel, Austin, TX
$395.00 $0.00
Workshop #1 - Thursday, June 9, 2011 @ 8:30AM - 11:30AM at MicroAssist
"Success in an Accessible E-Learning Environment: Technical Template Design" - Creating engaging E-Learning is tough. Many of us spend hours contemplating issues such as cognitive load, brain-based learning, and other lofty instructional design strategies. Go cognitive accessibility! HOWEVER, when it comes to creating E-Learning materials, the designer is given almost no instruction on technical template construction or how to test for accessibility.

Workshop #2 - Thursday, June 9, 2011 @ 8:30AM – 11:30AM at MicroAssist
"Visual Thinking 101: Using Push and Pull Visual Thinking Methods" - Why Visual Thinking? Join Allison for a workshop on the value of using visuals to clarify ideas, ignite inspiration and ambidextrous thinking, to tell stories, and to capture attention and emotion for enhanced learning. Pick up the pen and start learning to get visual thoughts on paper. Learn the Visual Thinking Alphabet and other shortcuts to doodling well, as well as methods to launch your graphic note taking/presenting skills. Students will also discuss application and using visuals in social sharing online. Students are encouraged to bring their iPad, favorite stylus (Allison recommends the BOXWAVE or POGO), and the Notes+ app, but an iPad is by no means required!
