Carol Fung, Head of Seller Adoption, eCommerce Division [MDEC]

Ms. Carol Fung has over 17 years of experience in E-Commerce Trading and Consultancy. She started her business from a mere hobby and now she manages her online business single-handed. Carol is known for selling her ribbons & safety pins in eBay and has trained entrepreneurs in Malaysia on how to bring their business from offline to online.

She was also a Certified Trainer by eBay SEA (South East Asia) which allows her to teach and provide training to individuals or companies in using eBay as a platform to trade online.

In August 2013, MPH Publishing Group published a book she wrote called ‘Master Class Series: Carol Fung’s Guide to Online Retailing). During her book launch, Dato’ Hafsah Hashim (CE) of SME Corporation Malaysia - SMECorp) & Datuk Yasmin Mahmood (CEO of MDEC) was invited to officiate her book in front of 100’s of entrepreneur & press media.

Madelyn Chin, CEO [Happy2U]

Starting at the age of 15, Madelyn Chin already had a passion for fashion and she turned her passion into a business with Happy2U. Founded in 2009 when she was just a student in high school, she went out to make a fashion brand that was affordable for everyone.No stranger to the fashion industry, she’s been an active member for 10 years. Now 25 years old, she has built Happy2U into a successful brand that is specialized in selling shoes.

Chia Wei, Lim, VP of Product Data Science [Skymind AI Limited]

Chia Wei Lim is a technical lead for Asia Region of Skymind AI Limited. She delivers end-to-end Artificial Intelligence Solutions crossing use cases of different verticals. She has the backgrounds of Machine Learning and Deep Learning for more than 6 years by now. In the past, Chia Wei has been leveraging predictive analytics on Big Data, applying to financial use cases such as Credit Card Fraud Detection, Know Your Customer Solution, and Credit Risk Management. Chia Wei accelerates the delivery of business value through enabling AI model serving at scale.

Adam Crozier, Masterplanner, Partner Maginaires, UK

Founded CDS in 2017 following 15 years working in the UK’s premier engineering, design, and planning practice. Trained as a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer, Adam is a partner of a global experiential design company, Maginaires, a new UK design consultancy. He is also a director of a UK Property venture TACT Project.

Adam’s background in landscape architecture brings with it a unique perspective of how the component parts of a city network come together to function as a single organism. He specializes focus on the creation of sustainable development strategies for urban and regional centers. A regular team leader, he helps multi-disciplinary designs achieve robust and tested solutions for large master planning projects.

Melvin Lim, British Architect, Partner Maginaires, UK

Melvin, award-winning international architect, and partner of Maginaires UK. During his tenure with Barton Willmore London since 2005, he excels with a wide-ranging involvement in high-end residential, mixed-use and commercial projects on behalf of landowners, public-listed companies, major developers, housebuilders, and housing associations in both country and regional level. Melvin and his team of architects now undertake all aspects of a project from initial feasibility and design through to completion. His focus, however, is getting the project started and ensuring that value is being created.

Our Moderators:

Mohamed Reezan, GM HLX

Reezan graduated from London School of Economic with a Bachelors in Economics and a Masters in Economics.

Prior to HLX, Reezan spends the bulk of his career in Private Banking in the UK with RBS and working to manage HNW clients with Coutts.

He has always been active in the startup field, either as a mentor, investor and serial entrepreneur.

Apart from working with his investment group today, Reezan is keen to disrupt and innovate the startup ecosystem here in Southeast Asia. He believes that through an ecosystem curation model, the innovation synergy between startups and corporates can be elevated to the next level.

He is also keen to see PPP being redefined as Private-Public Partnerships, having industry leaders and government supporting the ecosystem thus allowing Malaysia to shine ever brighter on the world stage.
