Description

Dystopian Fiction & Faith, is a writing contest and academic conference sponsored and hosted by the English Department at Hope International University.

Participating high school juniors and seniors are encouraged to submit academic essays on the topic of dystopian fiction or to submit original creative works that fit within the genre. Select participants will present their works at HIU’s Fullerton Campus on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10am-5pm.

$10,000 HIU English Department Scholarships available for winning participants.

Special Guest Speaker: Phil Roh, former HIU Professor, who brings thoughtful expertise to the study of dystopian literature and faith. Lunch will be provided. Awards Ceremony and High Tea at 4pm.

To be considered, students should send submissions to nhewitt@hiu.edu no later than
October 10, 2017.
