Description

Presenter: Ellen Hill, M.Ed., Fellow/Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators

Ellen Hill is an advocate for students with dyslexia. She has spent many years at The Schenck School implementing and learning strategies that help struggling students succeed. While at Schenck, Ellen has served as a tutor, teacher, LS Principal, Admissions Director, Outplacement Director and currently as Director of Community Engagement. Ellen has an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities and has presented educational sessions for teachers, parents and other professionals. The classes have areas relating to reading and dyslexia, including the "puzzle pieces" that often accompany dyslexia. The sessions have been presented at local and national IDA, AOGPE, SSATB and GISA conferences, as well as other community events. She has also taught workshops at independent and public schools and several universities in Georgia. In addition, Ellen has continued her education by living with her dyslexic husband and children. She is very proud to be the lucky parent of two dyslexic sons.
