Event description

Description

Join our expert panel to learn what it takes to test students for dyslexia. Explore various avenues for testing (schools, private psychologists, hospitals, universities), what is involved in the process, and some basics in how to interpret your child's test scores.

Janie Harvey, with the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center, will provide an assessment overview to help you better understand standardized testing. She will cover such topics as standard scores, percentiles, the bell curve, and age and grade equivalents. She will also discuss what a dyslexic profile looks like in testing and cover the brain processes critical to reading that must be assessed. Following this, a panel of experts will be available to explain their services and answer any questions you may have.
