“Conversational Search Platform at The Home Depot”

At The Home Depot, we continue to invest in innovative and bleeding-edge technology solutions to work with our Conversational Search Platform on voice search, chat bots, and other use cases. So far in 2018, we have released a voice search on our consumer app with Natural Language Understanding (NLU) for product search and several other intents, a FAQ bot that lives on major appliance, cart, and checkout pages, and an agent-facing chatbot to aid with customer service. We also started replacing our store IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system with an NLU chatbot to improve the customer experience. We have been using Google Dialogflow as our primary Intent engine, and came up with a loosely coupled architecture for our Conversational Search Platform, which can solve different product needs at Home Depot. In 2019, we hope to expand our Conversational Search Platform by implementing self-learning based on customer behavior, make a business-facing visualization of conversational flows that can be easily edited to test new experiences, and develop an NLG (Natural Language Generation) system that can answer customer questions that no one has seen before based on how similar questions have been answered in the past.

"Conversational commerce: emerging architectures for smart & useful chatbots"

Smart speakers and messaging apps are increasing in popularity due to their convenience, intuitive usage, and new user experiences. Companies are racing to develop voice interfaces and AI technologies in order to utilize smart speakers and messaging platforms as a sales channel.

We are introducing Grid Genie, a completely open source, multi-device, conversational commerce platform. With this technology, we can help you engineer a powerful platform to combine your Alexa skills, Google actions, and Facebook Messenger into a single seamless experience.
