The weekly class combines the teaching of technique, to strengthen your voice, with the opportunity to learn and sing a wide variety of songs with a group of friendly and supportive women. We create our own arrangements and, unlike in a traditional choir, you will have the chance to try all parts making you a more versatile singer. The harmonies are created to suit the voices in the group and you'll get to show off what you've learned in performances supporting local charities.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to audition?

No there are no auditions. You can just book, come along and join in. We sing together as a group so, don’t worry, you won’t be asked to sing by yourself.

Do I need to be able to read music?

No, we teach all of the songs by ear, and don’t use printed scores, so you don’t have to be able to read sheet music.

Is the Singing Group accessible?

Yes, wheelchair and mobility scooter access is via the door in Newton Terrace Lane. We can accommodate assistance dogs at the classes. We also provide large print copies of all of our materials, should you require these. Please contact us for further details and to let us know you are coming along.

Unlike regular choirs or vocal coaches, we combine the teaching of vocal technique with singing songs, creating bespoke harmony arrangements, and providing performance opportunities.

We pride ourselves on creating a warm, relaxed environment where we encourage women to be themselves and let their own personalities shine through music. We specialize in the female voice and our women-only groups provide a safe space for creative expression.
