COURSE DESCRIPTION

Early mobilization has been shown to be a key component in improving rehabilitation outcomes for functional mobility and ambulation. The use of technology increases opportunities for safe handling of patients, early mobilization and increased practice for patients who are at lower functional levels and are earlier in their course of rehabilitation. In this course we will discuss which patients benefit from this technology, how to incorporate it into your treatment plan for a variety of diagnoses. There will be lab demonstrations with live patients that will review what patient problems can be addressed with use of dynamic body weight support systems including pre-gait, gait and balance activities.

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants

Course Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this learning activity the participants should be able to:

1. Describe (2) components and (2) functions of a Dynamic Body-Weight Support System

2. Determine if a patient will benefit from use of a Dynamic Body-Weight Support System

3. Plan a treatment intervention based on a patient problem that utilized the Dynamic Body-Weight Support System

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be submitted to the MossRehab in writing. Please explain the circumstances of the cancellation in a fax or e-mail to ensure a timely response. Requests received 3 days or 72 hours prior to course start will result in a full refund. Re-quests received less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the course start will result in a non-refundable administration processing fee of $50.00 or 50% of registration cost (whichever is less). No shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the course start will be ineligible for a refund. MossRehab will reimburse you the cost of the registration, if we have to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or an emergency situation. We are not responsible for any other costs associated with attending a conference. If you are on the waiting list of a course and do not get in, we will not charge your credit card; if you paid by check we will send the check back to you. In the event that a course is rescheduled we will provide you the option of applying the tuition to-wards the rescheduled course in lieu of a full refund.

Requirement for Successful Completion: Satisfactory completion of the continuing education units consists of full attendance with mon-itored sign in and sign out forms and completion of a course feed-back form that includes self assessment of learning outcomes.
