Event description

Description

Learn dye techniques to dye two amazing, one-of-a-kind silk scarves!

In this workshop, attendees will join Jennifer Tepper Heverly to learn the basics of handpainting silk scarves, and will dye two different scarves: one 14" x 72" 60% silk / 40% wool blend scarf, and one 35" x 84" 100% silk scarf.

Fee covers all materials. Must be 18 years of age or over to participate.

Because scarves need to sit overnight for the best absorption, finished scarves will be mailed to participants the week after the workshop.

It's recommended that participants wear dark clothing, and / or clothing you don't mind getting stained. Dye has a way of getting on things (especially where you don't want it!). We use dyes for protein fibers (wool, silk, cashmere and other animal fibers) and it is typically removable from non-animal fibers (cotton, linen, synthetics with the exception of rayon) but some slight staining may remain even after washing.

REFUND POLICY: No refunds will be issued unless the event is cancelled by Blue Ridge Artisans. If a participant cancels 7 days or more before the event, a credit will be issued for a future event or workshop. Classes are subject to cancellation with a full refund if less than 3 participants are registered.

Tickets must be purchased online; there will be no tickets available at the door.

WAITING LIST: We will place up to 2 people on a waitlist in the event of last minute cancellations. If you are on the waitlist, we will notify you of a cancellation and if you'd still like to attend, you may purchase a ticket online and join us for the event! If the event is full and you're interested in being placed on the waiting list, please email us at blueridgeartisans@gmail.com. Thank you!
