Event description

Description

Color is a critical element of design.

When we look at something we make a judgment within 90 seconds and up to 90% of that assessment is based on color alone. Hear from Kristin Van Buskirk, owner of the color-obsessed local home goods shop, Woonwinkel, and former Nike Color Director on the power of color to capture a consumer, transform an environment, and grow your bottom line. She'll talk about her former life as a corporate color designer and share the tenets of successful brand color she gleaned along the way. She'll also help introduce the new Portland chapter of Project Color Corps, a volunteer nonprofit organization that paints urban neighborhoods with color and pattern to impart positive messages of optimism and hope. Hear its founder, Laura Guido-Clark, tell how she created this nonprofit because she believes in the power of color as a change agent to infuse a sense of well-being and energy into urban neighborhoods nationwide.

Join us for a lively discussion, including a color activity. Food and beverages provided - first come, first-served.
