DWP 2017: The Price is Right: How to Set Your Rate as a Creative Freelancer
Tue, April 25, 2017, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM PDT
Join us to help tackle one of the biggest quandaries we face as creative freelancers: how much should I charge for my work?
It's important to understand and feel confident about what you're charging, not only for your own success, but for the health of the creative industry as a whole. This presentation and discussion will help you identify your value and your place in Portland's freelance market. You'll walk away with the tools to confidently represent yourself and your rates to peers and potential clients.
About our special guest, Keith Lay:
Over the course of my 20+ year career, I have had the privilege of working with many interesting, international clients. More than just “client/vendor” relationships, I am most proud of creating long-lasting partnerships with my clients in which my deep understanding of their business has made me the go-to resource to help them solve their marketing, design and sales challenges.
In addition, I have worked part-time as an educator at the university and college level. I continue to seek clarity and knowledge, and to partner with those that share that journey.
Portland is known for its creative talent. That’s why we created Scopic, an easily browsable database that helps Portland’s agencies and other hirers find and connect with creative freelancers who will be right for the job, and passionate about their projects.
