DWP 2017: Doing Good By Design
Tue, April 25, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM PDT
Join the Children's Cancer Association's Brand Team at our riverfront offices for a chance to connect over drinks and appetizers as we hear from local designers leading the charge to use their creativity for good. We'll discuss what it looks like to enact social change through design, communication, and art both as non-profit and for-profit organizations. We will finish the evening with a Q&A and networking opportunity with our esteemed panelists.
Moderator: Aaron Cooper (Innovation Expert, Nike, Inc.)
Panelists Include: Nishat Akhtar (Freelance Designer/Illustrator), Carrie Grant (Graphic Designer, Children's Cancer Association), Jared Hunter (Tattoo Artist, New Rose Tattoo), David Rae (Chief Curator & Executive Producer, TEDx Portland), Mary Renouf-Hanson (Social and Influencer Marketing Director, Providence St. Joseph Health & Services), Tomas Valladares (Founding Member, Portland Street Art Alliance)
Alongside this event, CCA is asking for art installation proposals to reimagine the office entry wall (click for creative brief). At Design for Good, all submissions will be revealed, with an opportunity for guests and panelists to vote for their favorites (special prize for the winner).
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Albers Mill building has a dedicated parking lot with limited free 2-hour parking as well as paid parking lot stalls, and 5-hour street parking along Naito Parkway.
