Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags & UnIDMV hosts its Sixth Annual #POP2017 Teen Talent Showcase

What: 6th annual Passion over Poverty Teen & Young Adult Talent Showcase (7-24). The object is to provide an outlet for youth to share their talent as a way to channel their anger and frustration.

Who: Domestic Violence Wear Many Tags non-profit organization in collaboration with UNI.DMV

When: Auditions are first and free on Saturday, January 14 & 21, time 1-3pm both Saturday’s. The main event is Saturday, February 25th, 2017 doors open at 1pm.

Where: Ridge Road Community Center, 830 Ridge RD SE, Washington, DC.


Details: This is a “free” community oriented event, inviting people of all ages to enjoy while bringing awareness to the subject of Domestic Violence & Black History. Vendors are welcome for the main event (Teen & Adult). The purpose of the showcase is to educate for teen dating violence, getting teens/young adult’s comfortable discussing domestic violence. We take the teens and young adults through a process of self-esteem; self-confidence, building character, and most importantly effective communication, by having them audition for the show, rehearsal for the show, brand and market their passion. Our students in the showcase work with our music mentors and showcase headliners PNMA (Mikki), singer & song writer and Toni White, dancer.

About DVWMT Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags mission is to bring awareness to the community and families as whole as it pertains to abuse. We want to educate schools, churches, and mentor groups by reprogramming the amygdala with better decision making skills.

About UnIDMV is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting unity and giving back. Through the collaborative efforts between the DMV Entertainment and Music Industry, local area businesses and organizations, UnIDMV seeks to assist the underserved communities of Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia
