Description

On the day before the anniversary of Dutch Schultz' murder, come hear Hudson Valley author talk about the search for the missing treasure.

Dutch Schultz was an infamous crime boss in New York's underworld. In 1933, he was named "Public Enemy No. 1" by the Justice Department. Schultz immediately took steps to protect his money and decided that he needed a nest egg to fall back on in case he was sent to prison. He had his top lieutenants clean out his safety deposit boxes and gather together all of his cash from his available bank accounts. In 1935, while lying on his deathbed from a targeted mob hit, Schultz rambled incoherently about a $7 million dollar fortune he had buried in upstate New York. That bounty could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars by todays standards. Come join foremost Dutch Schultz historian and author, Bruce Alterman to hear more about this infamous mobster and this facinating unsolved mystery.
