Event description

Description

Carter, D’Intino, Layng Inc. (Cadila), and the Information Communications Technology Council (ICTC) are pleased to announce the 1st Annual Durham Access Ontario Summit on Employment.

The Durham Access Ontario Employment Summit will bring thought leaders and businesses together to tackle some of the hard issues around increasing the representation of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the workforce. In collaboration with the Ontario Government, Access Talent and the Discover Ability Network, we will promote Durham’s reputation as an accessibility leader that enhances opportunities for people with disabilities seeking employment.

Discussions will centre around four areas:

  • What is expected from an AODA compliance perspective
  • Let’s discuss the Access Talent strategy
  • Use of the Discover Ability Network
  • How we can promote the Region of Durham as a leader in accessible employment

Walk away with applicable information and knowledge about the Ontario Employment Strategy, the benefits of hiring persons with variant abilities and discover how you can reach untapped talent and help make Durham a leader on inclusion and accessibility. Let’s make it happen – reduce the unemployment rate of persons with disabilities by 30%!

If you require any accommodations such as captioning, large print, accessible documents, etc. please contact Pina at pina@cadilaconsulting.com.

Guest speakers to include Ontario Deputy Minister and author of Unstoppable You, motivational speaker, leader, humanitarian, advocate and decorated athlete, Tracy Schmitt. Breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
