Dunmall / Vadiveloo / Chareunsy + Ephemera

Saxophonist Paul Dunmall is a towering figure in improvised music. His Coltrane-esque tone and wide-ranging musical palette always make for a thrilling listen. He is also one of the most ardent champions of young musicians breaking through on the Birmingham scene. This performance will see him joined by two such musicians - bassist Josh Vadiveloo and drummer Kai Chareunsy - whose talents Dunmall has rightly recognised.

“Ephemera” is a new project by Rebecca Wing and Vato Klemera that explores the persistence of imaginings we often find to be transient, hidden, or easily lost. Weaving together ethereal improvisation with granular and tape-emulated looping, Ephemera is an invitation to wander the loose threads of our unattended dreams. Joined by Ollie Talbot on drums, the trio will meander through free-flowing songs and fickle soundscapes.
