    Timed Entry Tickets to the Dumbarton Oaks Museum

    About this event

    Book your timed ticket and arrive within the first 30 minutes of your reserved time. You will be asked to present your ticket – digital or hard copy to a Museum attendant.

    The Dumbarton Oaks Museum will be open 2-5 pm, Tuesday – Sunday, except for federal holidays.

    The Museum Shop will be open 2-5 pm, Tuesday – Saturday, except for federal holidays. No more than 2 visitors may be in the shop at one time. Our online Museum Shop can be found at shop.doaks.org. Please note that the Shop will be closed on Sundays.

    Know Before you Go


    For safety reasons, to minimize physical contact and practice social distancing, reservations must be made in advance online. No reservations will be taken on site or by phone. Reservations are by timed-entry and are limited to maintain a safe capacity. All tickets must be scanned to allow entry.

    Proof of Vaccination

    All visitors age 12 or older must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test administered within the previous 48 hours. Please visit our website for details. Any person who does not meet these requirements will be denied entry to the museums, notwithstanding their reservations.


    Masks MUST be worn at all times by all visitors over the age of 2. Masks must be well-fitted, cover the mouth and nose, and cannot have exhalation valves or vents. CDC mask guidelines can be found here.

    COVID-19 Safety Measures at the Dumbarton Oaks Museum:

    Visitor capacity is limited. 40 people are allowed to enter the Museum each hour, to allow visitors enough space to practice social distancing. Each group of visitors may have no more than 4 people.

    Hand sanitizer dispensers are located throughout the Museum. We highly recommend sanitizing hands frequently.

    All staff are required to wear masks and sanitize and/or wash their hands frequently over the course of the day.

    All visitors must abide by the following guidelines:

    Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose at all times.

    Practice physical distancing by staying six feet apart from other visitors.

    Food and drinks are not permitted.

    Re-entry into the Museum will not be permitted

    Help keep the Museum safe for everyone! Please do not visit Dumbarton Oaks if you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or COVID symptoms, if you are currently under isolation or quarantine orders, or you are feeling unwell and/or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. We look forward to welcoming you back when you are feeling better!

    Additional Information:

    Docent tours will not be available.

    There will be no school group visits or field trips.

    Restrooms are available to visitors and cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day.
