Description

Come join the Duke Hearing Center for Children and Families for a fun day at the Museum of Life and Science for your kids and a great learning experience for parents!

Adults will get to meet and interact with a panel of experts that make up Duke’s Hearing Care Team. During this 3-hour session you will learn about the important transition from early intervention to elementary education including: Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 Plan, and advocating for your child. You will also learn how to empower your child to advocate for their needs and become self-sufficient adults with hearing loss!

Children (ages 3 and up) will participate in an animal program and then explore the Museum of Life and Science in supervised small groups. Adults and children will both have a chance to enjoy a private train ride.

Children (under 3 years) Childcare will be provided during the lecture.

Note: A snack will be provided for children and adults will have light refreshments during the presentations.

After the program feel free to stay and play! This event is free so register now, space is limited!
