The last in our happy hour series featuring the surprising lives of Victorians and little-known secrets of Victorian society.

About this Event

Two elite groups emerged in early Kansas City society – the French Creole and Southerners who settled Westport. Food tells us about the attitudes and values of both groups – and which one ultimately predominated.

With Dr. Andrea Broomfield, professor of English at Johnson County Community College and author of “Food and Cooking in Victorian England: A History” and “Kansas City: A Food Biography.”

6:00-6:30 PM Social featuring a signature cocktail, 6:30-7:30 PM Program
