Our Vital Faith
At this very moment in time the values of Unitarian Universalism, hope, love, justice, courage and joy are desperately needed. The world needs us and we need one another more than ever before. Come into these gatherings of hope. See how the future might form under the leadership of a new UUA President. We will be gathering questions for the three UUA Presidential Candidates prior to the gathering. Don’t miss hearing them address the future of Unitarian Universalism.
Come into these gatherings of Love. Congregational Presidents join into the discussion with the other presidents so that you have the support and network you need in your leadership.
Come into these gatherings of Justice. How we do what we do makes all the difference, join into the other workshops to find partners in the work you do.
Come into these gatherings of Courage. We are so much stronger and can be braver together. Building the justice and loving world takes human hands and courage.
Come into these gatherings of Joy. The whole world needs Unitarian Universalism they just don’t know about it yet. Be forever joyful because we have one another and all the things that we need to do the work of building a just and loving world. Presidents’ Convocation: This workshop will introduce you to the other congregational presidents so that you can network and share great successes and challenges. Again, we are stronger together. Plus it is way more fun! We will get to know one another and introduce the new on-line monthly support discussions we will be offering. This is an inexpensive and convenient way to share, stay connected and learning new way to approach our work.
Vital Generosity Building the Spirit, Making the Connections, Living Our Values, and Doing the Work: Feel as though your congregation’s stewardship is out of energy and ideas? Worried about not being ready to adjust to changing realities or about not knowing what works best? Are your members thinking more about scarcity than generosity? Good stewardship is one part inspiration, one part connection, and one part great process. At least as much as any other component of congregational life, stewardship is about being spiritual AND being practical – neither is sufficient alone. Let’s look at that recipe and those concerns to build a better way forward.
Unitarian Universalist Heritage, Legacy and the Free Church Challenge Today: This is a “coming home” workshop for new and long time Unitarian Universalists focusing on our 400+ year story. We’ll review what has been unique but transient and what is enduring to guide us today.
It’s also a “going forward” workshop. We’ll go into a deeper conversation on what we are called to do and be today. Some questions that are central to that inquiry:
- Is there a theological center amidst our plurality of convictions?
- How does our musical style/s and selection teach our faith?
- How does our worship style/s include or exclude people?
- What is the primary difference we expect our congregations to make for our: Children, Youth and Adults?
- What is the primary difference we expect our congregations to make for the communities around us?
