Our experienced panel of CFOs will discuss how they have managed and maintained the preparation for liquidity events and cover various techniques including operational preparation for a liquidity event, preparing for due diligence, having current financial and marketing materials to explain the business. Our speakers will discuss the various factors that led to the success in the process.

Non-member senior financial executives who are CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Directors of Finance and Controllers (or the like) are welcome to attend this program as non members.

About Our Speakers:
Vance Tillman, CFO, Tideland Signal Corp.
As General Manager and CFO, Vance Tillman oversees Tideland Signal’s global presence, corporate strategy, and financial well-being. Vance brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience growing teams and businesses. Tideland was sold to Xylem, Inc. (NYSE: XYL) February 1, 2016. Prior to the sale to Xylem, Vance assisted Rock Hill Capital in acquiring Tideland and served as CFO improving and growing the business including acquiring a multinational competitor before the eventual sale to strategic buyer Xylem.
Before joining Tideland, Vance spent time in senior leadership roles of The Friedkin Companies, a leading private distributor/manufacturer for Toyota, culminating in CFO of the financial services division.
Vance received both his bachelor's in Geology and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Karl Maier, CPA
Karl Maier adviser privately held businesses on business growth taking advantage of his wide range of experience as an entrepreneur, CFO, M&A, consulting and other roles. Karl provides fractional CFO services to privately held companies. With an extensive mix of industry and consulting experience, Karl helps management teams define goals, benchmark their current position, and implement the systems and processes to achieve desired results. Karl’s background includes CFO-level positions, where he was instrumental in helping businesses grow at record rates of 50 percent to 100+ percent per year. Adapting a “listen first, then help others” mentality enables Karl to provide sound business and financial advice to business owners, from recruiting and building teams, negotiating contracts, raising debt and equity financing, assisting in the due diligence process and more.
Matt Rovelli, Managing Director, Cowen & Co.
Jimmie Williams, Partner, Hein & Assoc.
Jimmie joined Hein & Associates transaction advisory services department in 2015. With over 27 years of experience, he specializes in assisting companies, private equity groups and lenders with all aspects of transaction services. In particular, Jimmie assists clients with financial and operational due diligence; outsourced corporate development and M&A support; dispute resolution services; lender services; restructuring services; and consulting services related to debt and equity transactions. He has served clients in a variety of industries, including energy, manufacturing and business services.
Prior to joining Hein, Jimmie served as the managing director of WG Consulting, LLC for two years. An experienced M&A leader, he has the necessary technical acumen to assist clients even with the most complex of transaction structures. For example, Jimmie assisted an energy services company in evaluating, valuing, financing, closing and integrating a key acquisition that allowed the company to expand its existing product line.
Jimmie attended Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in business administration with a focus in accounting and business analysis in 1988. He is a finance committee member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church and member of the Texas A&M Former Students Association.
